I came to Woodlawn by accident … I met the owner at Fawcett Lumber Company, and after telling him I was a commercial photographer, I was asked by Jule Eberlin to photograph Woodlawn Plantation and design their logo.
A picture is worth a thousand words.
This horse-head hitching post remains to this day at the foot of the steps of Woodlawn Plantation. It appears to be the same one that was used by Gen. William Tecumseh Sherman and many others as their horse drawn carriages came to a rest before entering.
I was fortunate to have the opportunity to photograph Woodlawn Plantation and help them tell the story through photography and design.
